it works... September 1, 2010 Concerto (Irvine, CA) this one works just fine...
plus shipping was lightning fast...
can't go wrong at this price...
Works great August 28, 2010 Hippie Chick (Katy, Texas) I personally think the last rating "Compatibility with Mac" is probably not a fair rating. Not everyone (including myself) has a Mac. But I had already rolled over the question and it was going to give one star anyway. So in fairness, I have nothing to rate on that aspect. This product works great. I got one with my phone and when I needed it at work it was at home, when I needed it a home I had left it at work, so I bought an extra. No problems.
Meh...but worth the price August 28, 2010 pthpy I only got one but the first time I used it, when I pulled it out of the phone the device end came apart. It's easy to push back in but it's quite annoying. It's really cheap, but I'm sure there're higher quality for a better price somewhere out there.
No problems August 25, 2010 Trina Alot of people have complained that they didn't recieve an authentic Apple item. I did and I also payed the lowest price. I am very happy with my purchase from The OEM Shop
Not OEM but a good product August 24, 2010 Josh Daniel S. Davis (Highland Village, TX) It's disappointing that this was advertised as an Apple OEM cable when it's not.
However, the product *is* good. The USB connector is a standard, molded cable end and takes up very little room. I can use it in stacked USB plugs with no problem.
The device end is slightly different from Apple standard. There are squeeze buttons on the sides which disengage the cable lock. I like this because it ensures a snug and stable fit. If you were to yank the cord, the phone goes with it rather than destroying the plug. YMMV.
This cord works great for charging, for MS Scanner/Camera Wizard, and for iTunes sync on my iPhone 4.
This cord is not as rubbery, so it doesn't bind and is easier to coil up. It's about 1/2" longer than the Apple cord, but it otherwise about the same.
Sync speed seems to be about the same as with the apple cord, though I've not done metered tests. Either way, I didn't notice any major lag nor any errors in sync.
In addition to being superior in functionality, it's much less expensive than the Apple cable. We purchased 2 of these and both work. These are for our PCs and the stock ones are for bed-side charging.
Granted, it's inexpensive and not OEM, so there may be less quality control; however, the seller has DoA warranty, and the product is low enough cost to warrant buying a few spares anyway.
SUMMARY:
Overall, despite the mislabeled product, I'm very happy with this cable and would recommend it to anyone looking for a spare or replacement cable.
