This makes iPod shuffle smaller than ever, and the controls are right where you can reach them. So when you want to play, pause, or skip to the next tune, you don't have to fumble for your iPod shuffle--just follow the cord and press a button. The First Music Player that Talks to You VoiceOver will surely be the next big hit on your iPod shuffle. Say you're listening to a song and want to know the title or the artist. Just press a button, and VoiceOver tells you. You can even hear the names of your playlists. And when your battery needs charging, VoiceOver tells you that, too. Easy-Access Controls The controls are located on the right earphone cord. With command central strategically placed in this more convenient location, you can navigate your music--and activate the VoiceOver feature--without taking your eyes off your run, your ride, or whatever you're doing. iPod shuffle includes these easy-access controls, but you can also use headphones with similar controls from manufacturers like Scosche, Klipsch, V-MODA, and Belkin. Your Music Library ... to Go iPod shuffle is now available in both 2 GB and 4 GB capacities. So you have plenty of room to store hours and hours of music--up to 1,000 songs with the 4 GB model.2 That's a load of essentials for your workout or commute. And there's room for multiple playlists and audiobooks, too. Multiple Playlists You've probably made multiple playlists in iTunes. One for your commute. One for the gym. One for just chilling out. Now you can sync playlists on your computer with iPod shuffle, and play the perfect mix for your activity or mood. VoiceOver tells you the name of each playlist, so it's easy to switch between them and find the one you want without looking. Let's Talk Color The anodized aluminum enclosure makes iPod shuffle sleek and durable. It's even more colorful in gleaming pink, blue, green, black, or silver. And making its debut: the special edition iPod shuffle in polished stainless steel (Talk about rock star treatment). Even the iPod shuffle clip rocks. It attaches securely to your shirt, jacket, workout gear, and backpack, making iPod shuffle the perfect fashion tech-cessory. And yes, there's still room for personalized engraving. Multiple Languages A French love song. A Spanish bolero. An Italian cantata. Your music library has songs from all over the world. That's why VoiceOver speaks 20 different languages. So it can tell you song titles and artists in the correct languages. To Shuffle or Not to Shuffle The shuffle switch has three positions. Flip it to the left, and you'll hear your music in a refreshingly random way. Flip it to the middle, and your songs play in order. Or flip to the right to turn iPod shuffle off. do not buy this product July 28, 2010 N. Coleman 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I blindly bought the 3G shuffle after my 2G shuffle was so good to me but finally met its demise (RIP). I thought, "the new version should fantastic." No sweat right (future pun intended)? This is the worst piece of electronic equipment I have ever purchased. As other reviewers state, the unit and headphones become inoperable after any amount of sweat. I run. I sweat. This is not a good product for me, apparently. After researching the issue, most people say it's the headphones--I'm not sure if it's the headphones or the unit. I don't know. Doesn't matter. Don't buy this product.
Another issue is the awkward size of the device. The 2G version was the perfect fit for a runner's waistband. It's didn't protrude up onto the torso or hip (depending on where you put it). This protrudes too high into the torso or hip causing scraping on the body. Wow. So not only does it fail regularly but it physically hurts at times to wear. Bravo Apple.
If you need something for running go to a different manufacturer or the shuffle 2G. This product is only good for a person who isn't going to sweat or basically won't use the device the way it's marketed.
Apple Ipod July 26, 2010 LynnW2010 This was a gift for my Niece. She was thrilled with the Ipod shuffle, immediately took pics and sent them to friends. Then posted on facebook. It was a hit!
SSS - Sleek, stylish and superb July 25, 2010 patworld As always, APPLE is best, i personally dont like the sound quality that much compared to NOKIA. Ya, i am talking about cell phone NOKIA i wish they can start manufacturing MP3 players :).. But i give full marks to design, portbility and apple innovation
small&simple July 22, 2010 jmoody This is my first apple product. I was looking for something small & easy to use when traveling & this did the trick. i wish it came with a second remote device to use with different head phones or just to plug in the car(which i do, but without the remote i can't skip songs!).The capacity isn't huge , but for the size & price,I'm quite satisfied.
Don't buy unless you are budgeting enough to buy other headphones July 22, 2010 Jefferson 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This ipod works great, unless you are going to exercise with it and plan to use the headphones that come with the ipod.
I am now on my seventh pair of replacement headphones. The sixth pair did not even work for an hour after opening. I would prefer that Apple give me credit to apply toward a brand that works, but I guess I will just keep getting new ones until the warranty runs out.
Avoid getting this product if you don't plan to buy other headphones to use with it.
