3 out of 5 stars Average   April 23, 2010

The quality of the imagens seems as thought the game had been made originally for PS2... but it's not that bad either.

5 out of 5 stars Exellent Game!   April 23, 2010

Love this game!! it has the same essence of GOD OF WAR (GOW), so if you have played GOW you probably will find this game a copy cat, but it is excellent!

4 out of 5 stars Good Story, Short Game   April 23, 2010
John Jansen (Greencastle, PA)
This is a very short game. I got the platinum trophy within a week.
That aside I love the story, and the gameplay is quite nice. Most bosses are easy with the exception of Lucifer. Extreme difference between easy and hard modes.
Perhaps too short to be worth $60 but if used or on sale for >$40 a great buy.

5 out of 5 stars Worth playing   April 21, 2010

I find the concept of entering hell and fighting Satan really fascinating. This game doesn't deserve the medicore reviews it got, and it is a good game in its own right. The character of Dante is well-developed. He made a lot of mistakes, and did some horrible stuff. But you really feel for him as he fights his way through hell to get to his love and comes to grip with what he has done.
The annoying thing about this game is how much button mashing there is. Opening doors, getting health, finishing enemies all require mashing O.
This game is worth playing for $30 or so bucks, and I really enjoyed the developed combat tree and strong story.

5 out of 5 stars Love this game!   April 14, 2010

I love this game!!!

The first thing I would point out is that it is "combat wise" very much like God of War. What I don't understand is how's that a bad thing? All these people bashing it because it plays like GOW make no since to me. These are the same people who are going to run out and buy GOW3. Well how is that different from the first two? It's not... I have all three. I personally like the fact it plays like that. I can jump in right out of the box and start enjoying the game. All of these poor to average reviews because it's short or it's a clone. They recycle enemies. It doesn't stick to the original poem, all seem petty. It's an action/adventure game based on the nine circles of Hell. I mean how far can they stretch that out? So what it plays like GOW. I grew up in the 70's and 80's (Pong, Pac man, Space Invaders, etc...) You had one background and fought the same enemy until you ran out of lives and died... LOL! I guess all the games in the 80's were clones. Run from left to right. Jump to the platform. Climb this rope. Jump down that pipe. The fact that all those games were similar didn't make them any less fun and so it is with this game. The play is awesome. The environments are incredible. Dante is just as fun to play as Kratos. If you're a GOW fan then you should love this game. Well worth the bucks and with the multiplayer feature coming at the end of the month I'll get a lot of play out of this title.
